Hindenburg

From across the ocean in Germany

Came the airship Hindenburg for all to see.

Silver and proud; the queen of the sky.

A majestic beast that knew how to fly.

Fly – she knew how to fly.

She reached America brave and free

But the hand of doom she did not see.

Death was her terrible fate.

An explosion of blood and fire and flame.

Fire and flame; fire and flame.

And when the smoke had cleared

The Hindenburg was nowhere in sight.

The heavens were dark and angry and quiet.

The Gods were content with St. Elmo’s fatal strike.

The wind was singing a warning to the Third Reich.

From across the ocean in Germany

Came the airship Hindenburg for all to see.

Silver and proud; the queen of the sky.

A majestic beast that knew how to fly.

Fly – she knew how to fly.
